Using Customize Menu

The Customize Menu option is used for two purposes: to remove Net•Yield menu items for all users (because the specific option is not used in your company) or to add custom Net•Yield programs to the user's menu.

To access this feature, select Customize Menu from the Setup dropdown under the System menu.

If you wish to remove menu items from individual user menus, do this from User Security. Removing the security rights from a user removes that function from their menu structure.

Modifying the Net•Yield menu options

1. When you first enter the Customize Menu option, a Select An Option window will display with the following options:

EXIT – Select EXIT to exit the Customize Menu option and return to the System menu.
NETYIELD OPTIONS – Select NETYIELD OPTIONS to change which menu options appear for all users.
CUSTOM OPTIONS – Select CUSTOM OPTIONS to add, change or delete a custom program.

Scroll to NETYIELD OPTIONS and press Enter to select.

2. A Menu Options table will appear, displaying the following information:

Category – The main menu category for the menu option
Sub-Category – The sub-menu category for the menu option
The sort sequence or hot key for the menu option
Title – The name of the menu option

Scroll down the list of menu options and press Enter to tag or untag a menu option. An asterisk (*) will appear, confirming your selections. You may also press F9 to tag all Net•Yield menu options to be included on the your menu. Press F10 when finished.

3. The following command options will appear:

Update – Select Update to save your changes.
Exit – Select Exit to return to the Select An Option window.

Select Update.

4. The following warning will display upon exiting the Customize Menu option: "Important !!! You must exit Net Yield for menu changes to take effect !".

Note: All users must be logged out of the system for changes to take effect. If any users do not log out, those users will still have access to items removed and will not have access to items added.

The menu changes will be reflected when users log back into the system.

Adding custom menu options

Custom menu options are usually added by the Net•Yield support department when a customer requests a custom program.

1. When you first enter the Customize Menu option, a Select An Option window will display with the following options:

EXIT – Select EXIT to exit the Customize Menu option and return to the System menu.
NETYIELD OPTIONS – Select NETYIELD OPTIONS to change which menu options appear for all users.
CUSTOM OPTIONS – Select CUSTOM OPTIONS to add a new custom program.

Scroll to CUSTOM OPTIONS and press Enter to select.

2. A Select An Option window will appear with the following options:

EXIT – Select EXIT to return to the Select An Option window.
ADD – Select ADD to add a new custom program
A list of all previously defined custom menu options.

Select ADD.

3. The Category ID field will default to "C" and the Name field will default to "Custom". Populate the remaining fields:

Sub-Category ID – The sub-category ID is the ID assigned to the dropdown menu option.
- Press F3 to display a selection window listing previously used sub-categories.
- Select EXIT to exit the selection window and return to the Sub-Category ID field.
- Enter a sub-category ID for the new custom menu option, or select one of the existing sub-category levels.
Name – Enter the name for the new custom menu option.
Hot Key – The "Hot Key" is the ID assigned to the new custom menu option.
- Press F3 to display a selection box listing previously used sub-categories.
- Select EXIT to exit the selection window and return to the Hot Key field.
- Enter the Hot Key value.
Menu Name – Enter the item menu name for the new custom menu option being added.
Program – Enter the Net•Yield custom program ID.
Parameter List – At the Parameter List field, enter any special program calls needed to execute the custom program.
Security – Enter the User Security setting required to run the custom program.
- Press F3 to display a Select A Security window listing the security options available for use.
- Scroll to the appropriate security option and press Enter to select. The security setting will display in the Security field.
- Press Enter to continue.

4. The following command options will display:

Add – Select Add to add the new custom menu option.
Exit – Select Exit to abandon changes and return to the Select An Option window.

Repeat the steps above as necessary to add additional custom menu options.

5. After making your selection, you will be returned to the Select An Option window. Select Add to add another custom menu option, or select Exit to exit the window.

6. If any changes were made, the following warning will display upon exiting the Customize Menu option: "Important !!! You must exit Net Yield for menu changes to take effect !".

Note: All users must be logged out of the system for changes to take effect. If any users do not log out, those users will still have access to items removed and will not have access to items added.

The menu changes will be affected when the users log back into the system.

Changing existing custom menu options

NOTE: The main Net•Yield menu image can be customized by creating a custom image file that will be layered over the Net•Yield image. Net•Yield will replace the standard image with the customized image (if the file CompanyLogoImageXX.jpg is found in the Shared\NetYield\Data\Company\Images folder). The “XX” is used to size the image for each Net•Yield menu font size. The primary menu font sizes used are 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18.

1. When you first enter the Customize Menu option, a Select An Option window will display with the following options:

EXIT – Select EXIT to exit the Customize Menu option and return to the System menu.
NETYIELD OPTIONS – Select NETYIELD OPTIONS to change which menu options appear for all users.
CUSTOM OPTIONS – Select CUSTOM OPTIONS to add a new custom program.

Scroll to CUSTOM OPTIONS and press Enter to select.

2. A Select An Option window will appear with the following options:

EXIT – Select EXIT to return to the Select An Option window.
ADD – Select ADD to add a new custom program.
A list of all previously-defined custom menu options.
- Scroll to one of the custom menu options and press Enter to modify the option.

3. The following command options will appear:

Change – Select Change to make changes to the Customize Menu fields.
Delete – Select Delete to delete the custom menu option.
Exit – Select Exit to return to the Select An Option window.

Select Change.

4. Make the necessary changes to the following fields:

Hot Key
Menu Name
Program
Parameter List
Security

5. When finished, use the Enter, Tab, Page Down or arrow keys to move through the remaining fields.

6. The following command options will appear:

Update – Select Update to save the changes.
Exit – Select Exit to abandon changes and return to the Select An Option window.

Repeat the steps above as necessary to change additional custom menu options.

7. After making your selection, you will be returned to the Select An Option window. Select Add to add another custom menu option, or select Exit to exit the window.

8. If any changes were made, the following warning will display upon exiting the Customize Menu option: "Important !!! You must exit Net Yield for menu changes to take effect !".

Deleting custom menu options

1. When you first enter the Customize menu option, a Select An Option window will display with the following options:

EXIT – Select EXIT to exit the Customize Menu option and return to the System menu.
NETYIELD OPTIONS – Select NETYIELD OPTIONS to change which menu options appear for all users.
CUSTOM OPTIONS – Select CUSTOM OPTIONS to add a new custom program.

Scroll to CUSTOM OPTIONS and press Enter to select.

2. A Select An Option window will appear with the following options:

EXIT – Select EXIT to return to the Select An Option window.
ADD – Select ADD to add a new custom program.
A list of all previously-defined custom menu options.
- Scroll to one of the custom menu options and press Enter to delete the option.

3. The following command options will appear:

Change – Select Change to make changes to the Customize Menu fields.
Delete – Select Delete to delete the custom menu option.
Exit – Select Exit to return to the Select An Option window.

Select Delete.

Repeat the steps above as necessary to delete additional custom menu options.

4. Upon exiting the Customize Menu option, the following warning will display: "Important !!! You must exit Net Yield for menu changes to take effect !".

Note: All users must be logged out of the system for changes to take effect. If any users do not log out, those users will still have access to items removed and will not have access to items added.

The menu changes will be affected when the users log back into the system.
